Wellbeing education, taught like a real subject

A structured wellbeing curriculum for the whole primary school, Reception to Year 6, roughly 294 lessons in total. Each year group: 42 weekly lessons, 35 minutes each, across six modules: Self-Awareness, Resilience, Connection, Focus, Gratitude, Wellbeing.

A mix of practical lessons (movement, yoga, breathwork), theory lessons (what's happening in the brain and body), and blended, all interactive, all delivered by your own teachers, inside the school day. A subject children actively learn, not an activity they're kept busy with.

The whole school follows the same weekly theme at age-appropriate depth so siblings can compare notes at home and assemblies can reinforce it.

What a lesson actually looks like

Arrival ritual → scripted warm-up → feelings-in-the-body talk → six emotion poses → partner mirroring → Feelings Body Map

Word-for-word scripts

Materials flagged Essential / Optional

SEN adaptations at every step

Curated music per section

The Tree Pose script

"Balance like a tree. Trees wobble in the wind, and that's okay. Wobbling means we're trying. If you fall out, just step back in. Trees aren't perfect either." SEN: Allow wall or chair support. Foot can rest on the ankle bone if balancing on the calf is hard.

No yoga or wellbeing training needed

Every script is written to be read word-for-word. Prep is printing the lesson and gathering the listed materials, every item flagged in advance.

And the content is progressive, so your staff learn the wellbeing content alongside the children. Staff development built in, something no one-off provider offers.

Built for every child, including children with SEN

Written by a serving teacher and SENCo. Every pose, activity and discussion carries its SEN adaptation at the exact moment it's needed, so the teacher's attention can go to reading the room and supporting regulation in real time, where it matters most in an SEN-heavy class.

How it maps to the new statutory guidance

From 1 September 2026, the DfE's updated statutory RSHE guidance is compulsory in every primary school. Conscious Cubs directly supports the mental wellbeing and health education strands:

Statutory requirement (primary) Where Conscious Cubs teaches it
Recognising and naming emotions; emotional vocabulary Module 1, Self-Awareness (feelings vocabulary, feelings in the body, thought clouds)
Emotional regulation and coping with everyday worries Module 2, Resilience (self-compassion, setbacks, the Power of Yet)
Friendships, kindness and respectful relationships Module 3, Connection (being a good friend, listening, sorry and repair)
Self-regulation in practice, a settled, focused mind Module 4, Focus (managing distraction, one thing at a time)
Positive mental wellbeing and simple self-care Module 5, Gratitude (noticing the good, hard days still have gifts)
Sleep, food, movement, and knowing when and how to ask for help Module 6, Wellbeing (sleep is a superpower, food and water power, saying "I need help")

This is not a yoga day

One-off wellbeing days, visiting yoga teachers, video sessions children copy from a screen, all lovely. None of them are wellbeing education.

One-off provision Conscious Cubs
Standalone sessions 42 lessons that build, week on week
The children whose parents opt in Every child, every week
A visitor children don't know The adults children already trust
Movement only Children learn why they feel what they feel

Wellbeing is the long game. You won't see it in a week, you'll see it build across your classrooms all year. That's why it's a year-long programme.
